Basic Shotgun - 2 Days

 

Introduction: This course fully develops the student’s ability to employ the shotgun in any tactical environment.

Aim: Student will progress from basic handling and marksmanship to advanced shooting techniques that can be used in any tactical environment.

  • Patterning
  • Slug sight-in
  • Ready positions
  • Malfunctions
  • Shooting positions
  • Transition to shooting positions
  • Multiple shoots / multiple targets
  • Tactical reload
  • Speed reload
  • Ammunition change over
  • Shooting on the move
  • Shooting moving targets
  • Barricades

 

Ammunition Requirements: 750 rounds of bird shot, 25 rounds of 00 buck, 25 rounds of slug

Gear: Shotgun, sling, ammunition holder, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, weapon cleaning kit, rain gear, clothing appropriate for climate and conditions and a water bottle or other hydration system.

Method: Classroom and practical application on the ranges.

Course Cost: $595.00. Most items on the gear list may be rented via the application at additional cost or purchased at the Pro Shop.
