Introduction: This course picks up where basic sniper instruction ends and will take a basic sniper/marksman to the next level of training and proficiency. After a review of the elements of the Basic Sniper course, the course will move into advanced sniper techniques by focusing on longer range engagements, as well as field-craft in both a rural and urban setting. The challenging course of fire was designed to develop advanced sniper tactics and to provide an opportunity to shoot in scenarios developed to challenge the student sniper’s marksmanship skills.

Aim: The goal of this course is to give the successful graduate the necessary tools to be an effective sniper in all conditions from a Law Enforcement or Military perspective.

Ammunition Requirements: 400rds match-grade ammunition

Gear:

  • Sniper Weapon System (bolt action or semi-auto, .308 is recommended) including scope (mil-dot reticule pattern is recommended), a bipod mount for the weapon is highly recommended
  • Complete weapon cleaning kit (push rod, brass jag, powder solvent, copper solvent, bore guide)
  • Spotting scope with tripod (good quality scope with variable zoom settings and a reticule pattern is recommended)
  • Binoculars
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Back pack or equipment bag
  • Calculator
  • Range clothing appropriate to the season
  • Rain gear
  • Hydration system/water bottle
  • Flashlight (red and white light)

 

Recommended Additional Equipment:

  • Sunscreen and Insect repellant are recommended in summer months.
  • Night vision system (weapon mounted night vision device for the shooter and head mounted or tripod mounted night vision for the spotter)
  • Anemometer (Kestrel 3000 or equivalent recommended)
  • Sling for the weapon
  • Shooting bag, bean bag or shooting glove (or both)
  • Drag bag
  • Camouflage face paint
  • Camouflage clothing (“Guillie Suit” if available)
  • Sniper data book
  • Mildot Master® or other equivalent device,  

 

Method: This course is a combination of classroom theory, practical field applications and live fire applications in a variety of conditions.

Skill Prerequisites: Basic Military / LE Sniper Course; Prior to taking this course, the student is expected to be able to set up and zero their weapons with minimal supervision.

Number of attendees: 4 to 12

Duration: 5 days

Course Cost: $1300 includes training and course manual. Bunkhouse lodging is available at the North Carolina campus and may be reserved through your Sales Coordinator. A variety of meal options can be purchased from our on-site dining facility for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Most items on the gear list may be rented via the application at additional cost or purchased at the Proshop.
