Introductory Pistol - 1 Day

 

Introduction: This course is for the individual who is unfamiliar with weapons procedures or needs to develop safe weapon handling skills and a solid foundation of basic shooting skills.  Students will learn the basic fundamentals of shooting and how they apply to accuracy.  Through demonstration and practice, participants will learn the movement for drawing the firearm from the holster to presentation.  Students will also learn how to identify types of malfunction and take the logical steps to efficiently correct them.

Aim: The students will learn safe weapon handling and basic shooting skills.

  • Maintenance of the pistol
  • Fundamentals for shooting
  • Gear placement
  • Ready positions
  • Reloads and malfunctions
  • Drawing from the holster

 

Ammunition Requirements: 300 rounds

Gear: Pistol, holster, three high capacity (15rds) magazines or six low capacity (7-8 rds), magazine holders, belt, clear wraparound ballistic eye protection, ear protection, rain gear, weapons cleaning kit, clothing appropriate for climate and conditions and a water bottle or other hydration system.

Method: Classroom and practical application on the range.

Duration: 1 day

Course Cost: $200.00 tuition fee for 8 hours instruction, and a certificate of completion.  A variety of lunch options can be purchased from our on-site dining facility.
