Counter Terrorism Driving - 2 Days

 

Introduction: Counter Terrorism Driving is an intensive course designed to provide classroom and practical training on driving techniques used to identify and evade terrorist and criminal threats in the tactical environment.

Aim: The subjects covered provide the student with driving skills to identify, assess, and evade possible hostile actions by terrorists.

Topics:

  • Travel security assessment
  • Terrorist/criminal methodology
  • Route security assessment
  • Surveillance detection plan
  • Driving emergency response-braking drills, avoidance drills, response drills, skid control
  • City streets and heavy traffic driving unknown “rules of the road,” close proximity driving
  • Driving beyond normal limits - high speed techniques, minimum visual distance, whole road/restricted lane, cornering, exiting the corner
  • Evasive Actions - ramming (barricades), reversing out, Y-turns – reverse 180 degree turn, PIT, driver down, right front seat driving countering the drive
  • Attack recognition

 

Gear: Clothing appropriate for climate and conditions and a water bottle or other hydration system.

Method: The training day is 80 percent hands-on training in provided training vehicles and includes metal-to-metal contact while driving for the most effective, realistic training.

Skill Prerequisites: Active law enforcement identification and a valid driver’s license.

Number of attendees: 6-18

Duration: 2 days

Course Cost: $1,200.00 includes lunch each training day. Bunkhouse lodging is available at the North Carolina campus and may be reserved through your Sales Coordinator.
