
Introduction: Law enforcement officers today are facing very sudden and unexpected violent encounters while engaged in their duties. During this intensive three-day course, the uniformed officer or police detective will be placed in realistic scenarios developed to enhance their decision making and develop physical skills required during these violent encounters. The course covers several topics, including the fundamentals of shooting and tactical pistol and shotgun, and develops skills in the variety of environments that officers may find themselves in. Note: Day two is a long training day with a low-light application.
Aim: Students will learn how to survive and prevail in lethal encounters.
Topics:
Ammunition Requirements: 1000 rounds of handgun ammo, 100 rounds of birdshot, 15 slugs.
Gear: Duty gear including soft body armor if issued, duty handgun, holster, three high capacity (15rds) magazines or six low capacity (7-8 rds) magazines, magazine holder, belt, functional shotgun, flashlight, flashlight holder, clear wraparound ballistic eye protection, ear protection, weapons cleaning kit for both weapons, rain gear, clothing appropriate for climate and conditions and a water bottle or other hydration system.
Method: Course involves classroom theory and extensive range time, including force-on-force scenarios using Simunition® FX® weapons.

Course Cost: $595.00 (Includes lunch and training each day). Bunkhouse lodging is available at the North Carolina campus and may be reserved through your Sales Coordinator. Most items on the gear list may be rented at additional cost or purchased at the Proshop.
