AR-15 / M-16 Carbine Armorer Course - 2 Days

 

Introduction:  This course is designed for the professional who wants the designation of AR-15/M-16 Armorer.  The U.S. Training Center Armorer Course is the premier AR-15/M-16 armorer course in the United States and is the benchmark certification for the industry.  The course covers the AR-15/M-16 platforms and provides instruction on how to diagnose and repair malfunctions, return firearms to military specifications, perform function inspections, check headspace, and more.  Armorer training classes are a mixture of classroom instruction and hands-on exercises, enabling each student to achieve a high degree of familiarity with the topics covered.

Aim:  Students successfully completing the course will be able to repair and maintain the AR-15/M-16 platform to Military Specifications.  Graduates will be issued a three year certification and receive one-on-one U.S. Training Center phone and/or e-mail support.

Topics: 

  • History of the AR-15/M16 Rifle
  • Function of the five major assemblies
  • Clearance procedures, load & unloading procedures
  • Field stripping the rifle
  • Function check
  • Gas operating system
  • Cycle of operation
  • Difference between semi-automatic and automatic parts
  • Legal barrel length with or without a permanent flash suppressor
  • Disassemble and assemble lower receiver group to include stock
  • Disassemble and assemble bolt carrier group
  • Disassemble and assemble upper receiver group
  • Bullet trajectory and battle sight zero
  • Headspacing
  • Barrel replacement
  • Cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication

Gear:  All weapons and armorer tools used in the course will be provided by U.S. Training Center.

Method:  This course will be taught using classroom lectures and practical exercises.

Prerequisite:  Some hosted locations may be limited to active duty law enforcement/military or civilian with an active Federal Firearms License (FFL), or employee of company with a FFL.

Skill Prerequisites:  Basic knowledge of AR-15/M-16 operation.

Duration:  2 Days

Course Cost:  $450.00 if at North Carolina and Midwest facilities.  Lunch is included only at the North Carolina and Midwest facilities.  Lodging is available at the North Carolina facility and may be reserved through your Sales Coordinator.
