SWAT II - 5 Days

 

Introduction:  This US Training Center course builds upon the tactics taught in the USTC SWAT I Course. The first day starts with a firearms “warm up” including a pistol and long gun qualification courses and provides a review of the topics covered in the Basic SWAT course, including a basic clearing review. The remainder of the course will use classroom and practical instruction to develop advanced techniques used for building clearing and other tactical scenarios. Students will be use these techniques in challenging, practical situations to create a solid foundation that will enable them to plan and execute a warrant service and hostage rescue
This course is open to all officers that conduct warrant service, fugitive apprehension, SWAT operations, and drug search warrants, that are in need of sound tactics and techniques to conduct these operations efficiently and safely

Aim:  Establish the skills set that will enable the student to plan and execute a warrant service and hostage rescue

Ammunition Requirements: 400 rounds standard ball pistol ammunition (200 for day one, 100 for remaining days), 400 rounds of ammunition for carbine (200 for day one, 100 rounds of frangible for remaining days*). 
*Frangible ammunition is only needed if shooting rifle cartridge as primary weapon (ex: .223 caliber) for live fire in the shoot house.

Gear: Duty pistol,  minimum three pistol magazines (single stack .45 cal minimum five magazines), Duty carbine with sling, minimum three magazines, armor carrier/load bearing vest, magazine holders (pistol and carbine), entry gear, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, weapon cleaning kit, appropriate range attire for climate and conditions and a water bottle or other hydration system.

Method: This course is a combination of classroom presentation (10%) and practical exercises (90%) using marking round exercises and live fire exercises.

Skill Prerequisites: US Citizen Law Enforcement/Military Law Enforcement officer; satisfactory completion of USTC SWAT I course.

Number of attendees: eight to fourteen

Duration: five full days

Course Cost:  $995.00 includes lunch each training day, use of Simunition® modified weapon, and about 150 rounds of Simunition®.  Lodging is available at the North Carolina campus and may be reserved through your Sales Coordinator.  Most items on the gear list may be rented via the application at additional cost or purchased at the Pro Shop.
