Mentor for Operations and Training, Combined Training Advisory Group-Police (CTAG-P), AFG

Location(s): Afghanistan

Primary Purpose: Supports USG, Combined Training Advisory Group-Police (CTAG-P), Afghan National Police Programs to contribute the development of the National Police program.

Essential Functions:

  • Trains and coaches HN counterpart to manage and supervise training plans.
  • Trains and coaches HN counterpart to coordinate training requirements from higher headquarters down to the unit level.
  • Provides mission guidance to HN counterpart down to subordinate unit training officers.
  • Trains and coaches HN counterpart to performs duties as Battle NCO in TOC during all exercises and deployments.
  • Trains and coaches HN counterpart how to perform Military Police duties as needed.
  • Trains and coaches HN counterpart how to coordinate all training law enforcement support and activities.
  • Trains and coaches HN counterpart how to coordinate all military and civilian police contingency operations.

 

Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree is desired, degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or business desired.  Senior Non Commissioned Officer, Sergeant Major, Master Sergeant and or Sergeant First Class (E-7 and above), 31B MOS, Security Forces, or Marine Corps Military Police is an essential differential for this position. Must have at least ten (10) years of experience as a military police officer.  Experience in a multicultural environment is desired. Must be familiar with all aspects of training, training management and mentoring.  Must have experience managing others within a fast-paced environment.

Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization (including management, peers, team members and customer-base). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion. Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Must be in excellent health and be able to deploy globally to include hostile environments (Afghanistan). Work environment varies from an office setting to austere conditions. The work schedule is a 60-hour work week; in some periods, extended hours may be required.
