‘Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.’ Winston Churchill, August 16th, 1940, after visiting 11 Group’s operations room at RAF Uxbridge on August 16 during a day of battle.

If I wrote all day, every day, I could not find any words that would better express my sentiments to all of those who have given so much to keep the peace in our world.

Like many other Peace Keepers of law enforcement and the military, I have seen far too much to ever express it in words to anyone who has never been there. Today I use Churchill's words to say what I cannot effectively say to my predecessors, current Peace Keepers and my Compadres… No words at my disposal today… Nothing can describe the flow and power of my emotions, my reverence and my respect to and for all Peace Keepers… Your service and the cost you have paid to preserve us is deeply engraved into my consciousness, my experience and my memory… Just the appearance of you, the thought of you, the awareness in me of who you are and what you have all been to all the rest of us… These things welling up in me can only be expressed in two very insufficient words… THANK YOU… But if I said those two words to you continuously for the rest of my life and breath, I would never be able to express enough appreciation to all of you for all that you do and have done. The honor of being one among you is more gigantic than words can describe or imagine. My Commander-In- Chief and I are Eternally thankful for the choices you have made and the prices you have paid. THANK YOU!
